Our objective is to provide a shared community work space that promotes and facilitates practical education to learn, make, and mentor in technology and arts. 1st Maker Bn. will give members access to a wide range of tools, equipment, and machinery to broaden and strengthen the quality of life, increase job skills, and cultivate entrepreneurial incubation and acceleration to help support the community and increase commerce.
target community
Located in St. Tammany parish, Louisiana, 1st Maker Bn. makerspace will serve members of all ages with special emphasis on disabled veterans, active retired community, law enforcement officers and other first responders who provide a strong foundation of technology and mentorship to strengthen our community.
Wood working
Access to a range of professional shop equipment including CNC router, industrial machinery, and various hand and power tools.
Metal working
Metal is an important maker discipline. Aluminum, steel, welding, cutting, drilling, tapping, all important in the construction of a wide range of items.
electronics
We all learned to solder when we were young. Using electricity to make things move and light up to perform command and control using motors and power supplies is an important building block making technology possible.
